WHAT IS NATURE COAST INTERGROUP?
An “Intergroup” is a local Alcoholics Anonymous

partnership of individuals.
Nature Coast Intergroup, Inc. is an incorporated

EVENTS
Each year Nature Coast Intergroup sponsors a
Founders Day Luncheon in June, a Gratitude
Luncheon in November, and other A.A. social events
throughout the year. The Events Committee meets
regularly. Any A.A. member is invited to attend and
help out with event activities. The Events chair
works to get a group of people involved to help with
events. They present a monthly report to the
Intergroup.
HOTLINE 352-621-0599
The telephone is the link from suffering alcoholics to
Alcoholics Anonymous, as well as a resource for
visitors looking for meetings and inquiries from the
general public and professional community. The
Hotline is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by
experienced A.A. members. The chairperson sets up
an annual training event for hotline volunteers. They
set up a weekly schedule for the volunteers to
answer the phones. They provide resources to try to
answer any questions callers may have. They
present a monthly report to the Intergroup meeting.
NEWSLETTER
The Nature Coast Intergroup Journal is a newsletter
published by NCI containing articles helpful to
recovery. The Journal provides local and special
announcements regarding Intergroup, as well as
issues affecting the AA fellowship, groups, and
District. The Journal lists upcoming Local, Area,
National and International events, announces
monthly anniversaries, and provides articles
important to recovery. Copies of the Journal are
available for pickup and distribution at the monthly
intergroup meeting at Shepherd of the Hills Church
and at A.A. meetings throughout the Nature Coast Area
You can also find them on our website.

SERVICE
The Intergroup relies on A.A. group members to
perform Twelfth-Step service. Service at Intergroup usually consists of answering the Hotline, arranging A.A. member Twelfth-Step contacts for newcomers, helping callers to get to meetings and/or serving on
Intergroup Service Committees. Intergroups usually publish a newsletter. Intergroup acts as an information exchange for local groups coordinating
activities no single group can perform.
HOW CAN I HELP?
Volunteers are needed to answer the Hotline. Call
the Hotline at (352) 621-0599 to find out how to
volunteer.
The newsletter always needs new, refreshing
recovery articles. These can be your own original
stories, tidbits, or copies of articles or graphics from
other recovery sources. If you have writing and
computer skills, please consider helping our editor
by submitting your recent personal experiences
regarding recovery. Send your email to
